NetPAC Now Supports NVMe Drives

The NetPAC, a portable server for network capture and analysis, can now support up to 16x hot-swappable NVMe Drives. Data transfer speeds with NVMe drives are 6x faster in comparison to older SATA III SSDs. Available with up to 120TB of storage, the NetPAC is perfect for business-critical applications and demanding databases. By supporting NVMe drives, large file transfers will no longer face bottnecking issues and data can be transferred at breakneck rates with lower latency and zero packet drops.

NVMe Technology

NVM Express or Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) is a host controller interface changing the world of storage technology. With typical SATA III, solid-state drives (SSDs) connect with a data cable and power cable directly into the motherboard and the solid state drive itself. NVMe, on the other hand, uses a PCI Express (PCIe) bus to connect SSDs right onto the motherboard. This allows the NVMe drives to draw data through the motherboard at a much faster rate than SATA III drives. In short, NVMe SSDs transfer speeds leave SATA III SSDs in the dust.
