Increased demands and differences in infrastructure brought about by 5G, IoT, and remote work, requires updated testing approaches and best practices. Networks are rapidly becoming more complex, and high-quality secure connections are now essential for many major industries: healthcare, financial, government, education, and more. These days network performance and security are key to operations in our day-to-day lives, any downtime could lead to serious disruptions.

Requirements

Our customer is a leading test and measurement company that is dedicated to creating packet capture systems to minimize network downtimes and maximize network potentials. Their platform allows for telecommunication companies to quickly detect, respond, and analyze network failures. The customer needs a portable hardware solution to complement their lossless packet capture platform.

Solution

Custom Solution for Ethernet Packet Capture.

Acme provided the customer a portable packet capture solution that was rugged and able to sustain rates of up to 100 Gbps. The system is designed to capture 100% of packets at the highest speeds.

Key Benefits:

  • Packet capture and analysis is crucial for managing networks. These tools are used to observe and record complete network activity to fix a network issue or respond to security incidents such as malware, viruses, and cyber-attacks.
  • Deployable at remote sites for extended sessions, engineers can work remotely to resolve network and application performance problems either in real-time or by looking at historical data.
  • Recorded high-speed data can be played back in a lab to recreate the real-time packet network for further diagnosis and troubleshooting. This is a major advantage of PC-based test equipment, as massive test data sets may be stored locally.
